Analisis Data Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja di Kota Medan Tahun 2019-2020

Abstract

Employment is an important issue in national and regional development. The city of Medan as the capital city of North Sumatra Province has a high need for labor absorption in line with the growth of the existing population. This study aims to determine the absorption of labor in the city of Medan in 2019-2020. This study uses descriptive statistical methods with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Medan City. The results showed that there was an increase in the percentage of unemployment in Medan City in 2020 by 2.21%. The employment sector with the highest employment absorption is the tertiary sector or service provider, especially in trade, which absorbs the highest workforce in the city of Medan.
