Abstract

Educational outcomes will determine the progress of a country towards freedom in all daily problems. The development of competent and independent individuals through the learning process is one indicator of educational success. Shifts in personal behavior towards the better can be a sign of successful learning. Socio-cultural change is a deviation from established norms. Geography, material culture, population structure, ideology, and new social discoveries are examples of this shift. This modification indicates development. The social life of society is greatly influenced by this rapid development. The purpose of this study was to determine the design of the development of comic teaching materials and the effectiveness of comic teaching materials in the socio-cultural change course for class IX MTs LAB UIN SU MEDAN students. The research method used is the research and development approach. R&D is a strategy that aims to create products and evaluate their effectiveness. Data collection used in the development of this social studies comic teaching material is observation, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study are that digital comic media can be developed and the suitability of comic teaching materials that can be used in the learning process.
